About Me

My photo
Adalbert is a forum for me, to post ephemera, photography, poetry, occasional travel notes, and various spontaneous motions. Cover photo: Parsonage where my great-grandfather spent his early years. Taken near Liegnitz, Silesia, ca. 1870. The "xothique" portion of the web address is a nod to Clark Ashton Smith's fictional continent of Zothique.

  1. I've never been to Bristol, but pass through Sevenoaks on my way to London quite often.
Salmon postcards are well known here.

  2. Thanks, first time I have seen a Salmon postcard. Now if I could only figure out who Jimbo was... Actually there used to be a local character by that name, not sure if it's the same guy.

  3. It's strange to realize that this mediaeval pointy thing used to stand in the center of Bristol, at the crossroads of its four main streets. And I guess the photographer isn't religious since he cropped out the actual cross at the top.
