About Me

My photo
Adalbert is a forum for me, to post ephemera, photography, poetry, occasional travel notes, and various spontaneous motions. Cover photo: Parsonage where my great-grandfather spent his early years. Taken near Liegnitz, Silesia, ca. 1870. The "xothique" portion of the web address is a nod to Clark Ashton Smith's fictional continent of Zothique.

Shade of Branches

This picture depicts solid, sturdy people who looked as if they could stand up to troubles and challenges.

  1. A wonderful photo, there's something very real about this type of photo, people as 'themselves' in their own environment.

  2. I agree Lisa, the three people have a lot of character and dignity.

  3. A great photo and group portrait, I wondered about the size, 6x4 or bigger?

  4. Ray, the original is 8' by 10' -- quite large for such a photo. I don't have the slightest idea who they are but from the clothing the picture looks to be in the 1940s.
