About Me

My photo
Adalbert is a forum for me, to post ephemera, photography, poetry, occasional travel notes, and various spontaneous motions. Cover photo: Parsonage where my great-grandfather spent his early years. Taken near Liegnitz, Silesia, ca. 1870. The "xothique" portion of the web address is a nod to Clark Ashton Smith's fictional continent of Zothique.

I finished posting my 1986 A Trip Journal.

  1. So who is this Christopher Gardner? I googled him but could find a thing. A famous pirate? One of your ancestors?

(BTW the link points to a generic tumbler page).

  2. An interesting gravestone, it's amazing how some of the inscriptions survive over time. When they put wording on gravestones now, it barely lasts 20 years.
The link to 'A Trip Journal' took me to the sign in page for tumblr.

  3. Ha ha, thanks to both of you for alerting me to the broken link. I redid it and it should work now. Rob, I don't know who Christopher Gardner is. I took the photo because I liked the image and engraving (taken in Boston). Lisa, you're correct, I've seen much more recent gravestones than this which are illegible.
