About Me

My photo
Adalbert is a forum for me, to post ephemera, photography, poetry, occasional travel notes, and various spontaneous motions. Cover photo: Parsonage where my great-grandfather spent his early years. Taken near Liegnitz, Silesia, ca. 1870. The "xothique" portion of the web address is a nod to Clark Ashton Smith's fictional continent of Zothique.

My great-great grandparents, Daniel and Charlotte Nash, and their children, Daniel, Sarah, and John, around 1880.

  1. How lovely that you have this picture and can put a face to the name of your ancestor.
I like the house in your new blog banner.

  2. Thank you, Lisa. I'm fortunate that some of my relatives conducted genealogical studies, and that I have some of these family photos (or at least copies of them). Glad you like the photo of the parsonage -- I was getting tired of the old set-up. More than likely the building in the banner is gone in the vicissitudes of war and time.

  3. Another good photo of the family, Jonathan. It's good to see them.

  4. Thanks, Ray. Looks as if a couple of the children might have been grasping some kind of stands (or maybe it was just a pose).
