Adalbert is a forum for me, to post ephemera, photography, poetry, occasional travel notes, and various spontaneous motions. Cover photo: Parsonage where my great-grandfather spent his early years. Taken near Liegnitz, Silesia, ca. 1870. The "xothique" portion of the web address is a nod to Clark Ashton Smith's fictional continent of Zothique.

Allen Ginsberg Dream Journal, 1988

A journal entry involving a dream about Henry Kissinger, from December 2, 1988, by Allen Ginsberg, from We magazine, issue 12, which appeared around 1990. Allen Ginsberg signed the page for me at Powell's Books in downtown Portland, August 30, 1991. Todd Mecklem and I also had a poem, Löwestrasse, in this issue.

  1. That must have been interesting, meeting Ginsberg. Really like the poem, Löwestrasse. Good stuff.

    1. I'm glad that you liked the collaborative poem, Ray. I crossed ways with Allen Ginsberg several times, between 1985 to 1994, at different events in Colorado and Oregon. He was unfiltered, open, and bubbling with ideas, and always interested in whatever other people had to say.

  2. I was interested in what you said about Ginsberg, that's just how I imagined him. A really loverly man!

    1. My friend took several black & white pictures of Ginsberg, and of me with Ginsberg, in '85. Unfortunately, he subsequently lost the photos.

    2. That's really unfortunate, they were something to keep.

    3. True. Sadly, they're probably gone forever.
