Like the Popular Mechanics cover. The Apocalypse Now quote brought to mind Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness which I read a long time ago. More recently I read his novel

ReplyDeleteYes, Conrad was one of the greats, Ray -- all the more astounding considering that English wasn't his first language. I re-read Under Western Eyes most recently.
