I hadn't heard of the Maryhill Museum, how interesting. More complete than Stonehenge was my thought before I scrolled down and read the post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa, it had been about 20 years since I'd visited Maryhill and the Stonehenge replica even though it's not terribly far for me! Quite a story of how the museum came to be.
ReplyDeleteTo do it properly they should have constructed two highways next to it (I still remember how perplexed I was when I found out about the actual surroundings of the mystical Stonehenge).
ReplyDeleteThis replica is in an isolated, semi-desert spot with very little population around. I'll have to go up there in my white "Druid" robes on the solstice next Friday.
