Adalbert is a forum for me, to post ephemera, photography, poetry, occasional travel notes, and various spontaneous motions. Cover photo: Parsonage where my great-grandfather spent his early years. Taken near Liegnitz, Silesia, ca. 1870. The "xothique" portion of the web address is a nod to Clark Ashton Smith's fictional continent of Zothique.
I acquired this massive, out-of-print collection, put together by Mitchell Goodman, not so long ago. Noteworthy, among other reasons, for having used some panels from R. Crumb comix, seemingly without having asked.
Rob, I think the Great Conspiracy was some kind of hippie talk. Ray, Crumb was an early interest of mine, and I still like him. A friend of mine received a couple postcards from Crumb in the early 1980s. At that time, Crumb was still living in California and apparently more accessible. Crumb also put an item about the Oddities zine (issues of which I've posted earlier in this blog) in an article about the Newave movement in his Weirdo magazine.
I've never met a Member Of The Great Conspiracy, sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI have some R. Crumb illustrations put aside to post at some time in my blog. A great favourite from the past.
