Adalbert is a forum for me, to post ephemera, photography, poetry, occasional travel notes, and various spontaneous motions. Cover photo: Parsonage where my great-grandfather spent his early years. Taken near Liegnitz, Silesia, ca. 1870. The "xothique" portion of the web address is a nod to Clark Ashton Smith's fictional continent of Zothique.
The two shooters in the first photograph don't look like sportsmen or people just doing some target practice. They look more like gangland assassins checking out the equipment. Do you have any information to do with photo?
Ray, I wish I had some background on the top photo. I got it together with some other old photos. The image is mysterious and dreamlike. Very incongruous mix with the hats, overcoats and scoped rifle and 1930s car. No idea where it was taken, although the scenery resembles the American midwest.

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look posed or contrived, the guy without the gun even has black gloves on, an extra touch of sinisterness. A great find.
