About Me

My photo
Adalbert is a forum for me, to post ephemera, photography, poetry, occasional travel notes, and various spontaneous motions. Cover photo: Parsonage where my great-grandfather spent his early years. Taken near Liegnitz, Silesia, ca. 1870. The "xothique" portion of the web address is a nod to Clark Ashton Smith's fictional continent of Zothique.

  1. Hi, Jonathan, Have been in London for a few days and
checked out the magazine store on Charing Cross station to see what magazines carried art work. I couldn't find one...they all used photography, and as much as I love photography it seems a shame to have lost that side of illustration.

  2. Hello Ray, hope you had an enjoyable time in London. I've never been to the UK but hope to get there someday. I see you live in Hastings, bit eventful in 1066 there. Chesley Bonestell was a fabulous painter. Yes, most magazines now have photographs on the covers, or less skilled artwork than the piece above.
